Finding the perfect childcare provider for first-time parents who just moved—now that’s a stressful endeavor. But that’s exactly where Jasmine Amitay and her husband Yaniv found themselves nearly six years ago. They moved to Virginia Beach and promptly welcomed their first son, Ben.

As full-time working mother, Jasmine takes advantage of the Beginnings childcare at the Simon Family JCC. During her precious free time, she uses the fitness center to stay in shape.

As the Amitay family grew, so did their time spent at the Center. Her younger son, Adam, also started Beginnings program and enjoys swimming lessons. Ben is now old enough to attend Kids Connection, a before- and after-school enrichment program.

“I know that when I leave my boys here, they are in a safe, loving environment, with a nurturing and caring staff,” says Jasmine.

In addition to using the center’s services, the Amitays enhanced programming. Jasmine collaborated with several JCC departments to bring the Maccabeats to the Center after her son expressed how much he enjoyed listening to their music in school.

“I loved working with the staff at the JCC because we all got so much done together,” she says.
